What this site collects, why, and how long it is kept. Written plainly, because a privacy policy nobody can read is not a privacy policy.

What visitors can see about each other

The recent searches page shows search text only, most recent first. It never shows a date, a time, a location, an IP address or any identifier, and there is no way to tell who searched for what or when. Queries that appear to contain an email address, a phone number, a long run of digits or other personal information are withheld from that page automatically, and the page is marked noindex so the queries on it do not enter search engines.

How results are found

This site does not run its own web index. To answer a search it forwards the text you typed to external search engines and combines what they return. Those engines are operated by other companies and have their own privacy policies.

What is not forwarded matters as much: the request to those engines is made by this server, not by your browser. Your IP address, your browser and any identity are not passed on — the outside engines see this server asking, not you. Nothing on these pages is loaded from another company’s servers either, so no third party sees your visit.

The practical consequence is simple and worth stating plainly: the words you type do leave this server, so treat a search box the way you would any search engine and avoid typing personal details into it.

What the site owner records

Like almost every website, this one keeps server logs. For each request the owner records: the time, the IP address, an approximate location derived from that address (country, region and city), the page requested, the referring page, and the browser's user-agent string. This is standard web-server logging, used to understand how much traffic the site gets, roughly where it comes from, and how much of it is automated crawlers rather than people.

Location is worked out on this server, using a local IP-to-location database. Visitor IP addresses are not sent to any third-party geolocation service. Location data is contributed by DB-IP under CC BY 4.0.

What this site does not do

• No advertising, and no data is sold or shared with advertisers.
• No third-party analytics or tracking scripts. Nothing is loaded from another company's servers.
• No tracking cookies. Searching does not set a cookie.
• No account, and no attempt to identify individual people.

How long it is kept

Raw request logs are currently kept indefinitely. Automatic deletion is switched off, and a retention period of 180 days is configured but not active.
